Hair
Hair must be worn in a bun from Grade 1 Ballet upwards.
For all other classes, hair must be in a high pony tail with fringes off the face.

Making a ballet bun

What do I need?
• Hair brush
• Large hair band (not an uncovered elastic band)
• Nylon hair net matching the hair colour
• Hair grips
• Hair spray or Hair gel

How to make the bun.
1. Brush hair until free of tangles.
2. Pull hair back neatly into a ponytail at about the middle of the head. A tidy pony tail with no lumps and bumps will make a good bun.
3. Secure ponytail tightly with hair band.
4. Use hair spray to smooth the hair down at the front and sides.
5. Twist the ponytail gradually wrapping it around the hair elastic, inserting hair pins as you wrap. Be sure that your hair pins contain hair from both the head and the ponytail. This will hold your bun close to your head.
6. Once you have created your bun, wrap your hair net around it.
7. Hold the hair net in place with a few extra grips.

Short Hair
• Short hair should be secured with a headband.
